Week 7 - oops!

I almost missed including info re: week 7!!!

What week 7 meant for me:

1) Increasing nausea - progressively worse during the day.  I was hating it last night (nausea, but thankfully no vomiting!)  If I eat, it's not as bad.  Maybe this is why I've gained 6.5 lbs in 6 wks???

2) Continued vivid dreams and (sometimes) nightmares.

3) Continued fatigue.

4)  THIRST - feeling dehydrated constantly.

5)  Our ultrasound!  Seeing the heartbeat (couldn't pick up the sound because it's just too little!) was the coolest thing EVER.  I forgot to mention on Thurs they sent us home with sparkling martinelli's to celebrate, and lots of fun magazines for new parents and parents-to-be. :)

Luckily my blood sugars have been pretty good, if not a little low.  My basal is now:
12 midnight: 1.8 units/hr
7 a.m.: 1.5 units/hr
9 p.m.: 1.8 units/hr

OK, according to http://www.babycenter.com/6_your-pregnancy-7-weeks_1096.bc?read_more=1&scid=mbtw_preg07:1072&pe=2UvuHCR, week 7 includes the following:

"The big news this week: Hands and feet are emerging from developing arms and legs — although they look more like paddles at this point than the tiny, pudgy extremities you're daydreaming about holding and tickling. Technically, your baby is still considered an embryo and has something of a small tail, which is an extension of her tailbone. The tail will disappear within a few weeks, but that's the only thing getting smaller. Your baby has doubled in size since last week and now measures half an inch long, about the size of a blueberry.

If you could see inside your womb, you'd spot eyelid folds partially covering her peepers, which already have some color, as well as the tip of her nose and tiny veins beneath parchment-thin skin. Both hemispheres of your baby's brain are growing, and her liver is churning out red blood cells until her bone marrow forms and takes over this role. She also has an appendix and a pancreas, which will eventually produce the hormone insulin to aid in digestion. A loop in your baby's growing intestines is bulging into her umbilical cord, which now has distinct blood vessels to carry oxygen and nutrients to and from her tiny body."

The links above should work, too. :)
Hope you're all doing great!  I have an appt Fri and will post again after that.

.... oh, and hope you had a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! :)

  1. I love that place with the Martinelli's & magazines! awesome!

I'm sorry about the nausea, that is not fun - although since it's all worth it and a good sign, I guess I'm kind of not sorry too :) I always thought it should be called all day sickness, not morning sickness!! I hope you can rest, and eat often, to keep it (sort of) under control!

I am so excited for you guys!
